All yoga teachers should have a basic understanding of pregnancy and prenatal yoga in order to provide confident and safe guidance when pregnant women attend a regular yoga class. This workshop is designed to help you become more familiar with the unique needs of this population.
In this workshop we will cover, the changes that occur during pregnancy, each trimester and how they can affect a students practice. Common discomforts associated with pregnancy and how we can use yoga to help alleviate them. What poses are contraindicated and how to modify poses for the pregnant body.
This workshop is open to everyone: yoga practioners, fitness professionals and expectant mamas.
Note: This is an introduction to prenatal yoga and pregnancy. Completion of this workshop does not qualify as a prenatal yoga certification.
About April: April has been teaching prenatal yoga since 2011, she is also a birth doula and a childbirth educator and is passionate about all things birth and women’s health. She has a passion for supporting mothers through the childbearing year as well as in teaching instructors to thoughtfully and safely support mothers during this important time.
